What It Is
The AZLM Lifestyle Medicine Rotation gives medical students a real, practical understanding of how nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management, and other health behaviors work to prevent and reverse disease. Most of the rotation is independent: researching, reading, and reflecting on how to apply these principles in your own life and in how you'll practice medicine, with some opportunities for direct patient exposure along the way.
Format
Students meet with Dr. Johnson primarily on Mondays or Tuesdays, with additional check-ins as needed — the rest of the work is on your own schedule. The rotation is open to students from any medical or premedical program, not limited to one school. In-person participation, based in the Phoenix/Peoria, Arizona area, is preferred, but the rotation can also be completed remotely.
